Rijnmond Air Services announces a new chapter in leadership at RAS

Today, we celebrate the remarkable career of Wiebe Bosma, who, after 32 years of dedicated service to our company, is handing over the role of Accountable Manager.

For more than three decades, Wiebe has fulfilled this position with great dedication and has been a stable and trusted leader within our organization. With his extensive aviation expertise, strong focus on safety, and calm, thoughtful approach, he has helped shape our company into what it is today — an organization we are truly proud of.

Wiebe has left a lasting mark through his leadership, with a strong emphasis on clear processes, compliance, and a healthy safety culture.

Beyond his professional achievements, Wiebe has also always been a mentor to his colleagues and team members. He has consistently shown genuine care and interest in both the professional and personal well-being of the people around him.

Fortunately, we are not saying a full goodbye to Wiebe just yet. As part of a smooth and well-structured transition, he will remain involved in the strategic direction of the company and continue to serve for some time as part-time Managing Director. This approach ensures continuity and stability as we gradually move toward his future full retirement.

We are also pleased to introduce his successor, Edwin Sipkes, as the new Accountable Manager.

Edwin has a long and highly respected track record within RAS, where he started his career in 1987. Since 1993, he has been part of our management team. He takes on this role with extensive experience, deep organizational knowledge, and a strong commitment to continuing the high standards that Wiebe has built over the years.

In addition, we are proud to announce that Erik Hoogstraten will take over Edwin’s position as Maintenance Manager.

Thanks to Erik’s technical expertise, leadership skills, and many years of dedication to our maintenance operations, he is exceptionally well suited for this role. His appointment further strengthens our management structure as we enter this new chapter.

We would like to sincerely thank Wiebe for his exceptional contribution to the company thus far, and we hope to continue building on his legacy with the same spirit and dedication.

At the same time, we look to the future with confidence, knowing that our leadership team will continue to guide the company with professionalism, experience, and a shared commitment to quality and excellence.
